With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy Carson (Gastonia, North Carolina), born in Bowling Green, South Carolina, who passed away on December 3, 2025 at the age of 100. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Wilson and Mary Ida Riddle; her spouse Walton Whitelaw Carson, Sr.; and her granddaughter Mary Virginia Minium. She is survived by: her children, Walton Carson (Cindy), Patricia McClain (Larry), Gail Minium and David Carson; and her grandchildren, Heather Howell (Wade), Erin Holland (AJ Ruzicka), Josh Carson (Lauren), Amanda McClain, Amy Minium (Danny Shackelford), David Carson and Paul Carson (Emily). She is also survived by mother to her two youngest grandsons.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 5th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the First Arp Church of Gastonia (317 S Chester St, Gastonia, NC 28052).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First ARP Church Missions Fund.
