We announce the death of Frankie Lee Payne (Gastonia, North Carolina), who passed away on September 25, 2026, at the age of 76. Frankie will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Payne and Billie Stringer Barker; and his siblings, Perry Payne and Judy Aniol. He is survived by: his wife Valerie Payne; his children, Heath Payne (Nichole), Scott Watts, Seth Payne, Erica Payne and Valerie Mathews (Doug); and his siblings, Roy Barker, Doug Elliot, Leaha Roth, Stephanie Wegrzyn, Mary Elliott and Kim Vollmerhausen. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Faith Fellowship (2854 Beaty Rd, Gastonia, NC 28056).
