She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilburn Dye and Alda Dye; her husband Joe Dawson; and her siblings, Evelyn, Max and Ray.
She is survived by: her daughter Jo Tucker (Donald); her sister Faye Dye; her grandchildren, Matthew Schafer (Victoria), Dani Jo Schafer and Lisa Tucker; her great grandchildren, Copeland and Mason; and her caregivers, Eshe, Michelle, Brittany and Zach. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Love Memorial Baptist Church (311 E Walnut Ave, Gastonia, NC 28052). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
