He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Boyd and Bessie Boyd; and his siblings, Jim Boyd (Glenda), Robert Boyd (Pat) and Elizabeth Boyd.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Bridges Boyd; his daughters, Rhonda Phipps (Paul) and Carla Fortenberry (Scott); his grandchildren, Lee Phipps (Erica), Heather Lineberger (Tyler), Luke Fortenberry (Mey) and Trevor Fortenberry; his great grandchildren, Pearson, Adilyn, Bryson Phipps, Harrison, Caroline, Nathan Lineberger, Ava and Grady Fortenberry; and his siblings, Terry Boyd (Nevada) and Nancy McWhirter (Johnny). He is also survived by children, grandchildren, and now great grandchildren.
