Though Irene may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wade A. Carter Sr. and Emo A. Carter; her husband Kermit Hull; and her brother Wade A. Carter Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Melanie Smith (Darrin), Dara Jones, Carrie Giesey (Jim) and Ashley Long (Chris); her brother Miles Carter; her nieces, Lauren Carter and Meredith Carter; and her sister-in-law Ann Carter.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia (700 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors (700 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054).
