She was predeceased by: her parents, Grover Thaddeus and Della Nichols Wilson; her husband Rev. Alan Judson Carpenter, Sr.; her brother Larry Wilson; and her granddaughter Hope Marie Carpenter.
She is survived by: her children, Jay Carpenter (Wendy) and Alana Lewis (Corey); her grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Carpenter, Patrick Hawthorne, A. J. Carpenter, III, Elijah Penley and Ryan Penley; and her friend Ruby Carr.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM at the McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia (700 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM at the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors (700 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054).
