He was predeceased by: his parents, James David Stewart and Annie Irene Franklin Stewart; his wife Diane Hansell Stewart; his brothers, Gary Stewart and Tommy Stewart (Kay); and his nephew Robert Stewart.
He is survived by: his daughter Emily Suzanne Stewart Thompson (Robert); his brother David Stewart (Serena); his brother-in-law Charles Reep; and his sibling's children, Jerold Stewart, Lisa Stewart, Angela Purkey, Alex Stewart, James Stewart (Erin), Elizabeth Stacey (Mike), Charlie Reep (Hayley), Amy Walters (Paul) and Tonya Stewart.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Garver Memorial Baptist Church (1920 N. Modena St., Gastonia, NC 28054). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baptist Children's Home of North Carolina.
