She was predeceased by : her father Troy Edward Jefferies. She is survived by : her husband Michael Beaty Self; her children, Tommy Self and Jill Self Hinson (Hoss Hinson); her grandchildren, Kayleigh, Molly, Zoey Self, Troy, Luci and Ivan Hinson; her mother Sarah Bowers Jefferies; her siblings, Frances Beavers, Tommy, Bill and Joey Jefferies; and her sisters-in-law, Debby Hill and Pam Belk.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM at the Grace Baptist Church (2200 Auten Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Gaston Memorial Park (1200 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054).

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Grace Baptist Church Youth Ministry in honor of Kaye's memory.
