She was predeceased by: her parents, Carrol Eric Barnes and Barbara Hicks Summit Barnes; her son Thomas Eric Costas; her sister Sarah "Sissy" Barnes Parrett; and her aunt Annie Laura "Lolly" Hicks Summit.
She is survived by: her siblings, Doris Barnes Bland of Richmond, VA and Ray Barnes of Aurora, CO; and her children, Tika Costas Miller (Karl) of Gastonia and Dean Costas (Katianna) of Andros, Greece. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
