He was predeceased by: his parents, H. S. "Mike" Michaels and Earlene Dixon Michaels; and his sister-in-law Doris Michaels. He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his daughters, Tracy Moore (Eric) and Christy Rape (Larry); his grandchildren, Dustin Moffitt (Jane McMurry) and Maddie Moore; his siblings, H. S. "Sam" Michaels and Joetta Huffstetler (C.); and his brother-in-law Rodney Pannell (Rita). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A graveside service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Gaston Memorial Park (1200 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054).
