With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert Stephens of Gastonia, North Carolina, born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, who passed away on October 9, 2025 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Robert leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Robert may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his mother Freda Pate Lyman; and his brother Andy Lyman. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Stephens; his son John Stephens (Wendy); his grandson Riley Stephens; his brother Tim Lyman (Judy); and his sister-in-law Kay Lyman.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:50 AM at the McLean Funeral Directors of Belmont (515 N Central Ave, Belmont, NC 28012). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the McLean Funeral Directors - Bumgardner Chapel (515 N Central Ave, Belmont, NC 28012).
