With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley Grose of Gastonia, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 12, 2025 at the age of 80. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Shirley Grose to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hogan Ralston Broome and Bertha Payne Broome; her daughter Lynn Gantt; and her siblings, Jerry Broome, Jimmy Broome and Bobbie Morgan.
She is survived by: her husband Gary Grose; her children, Charles Thomas Hance (Sylvia), Tony Brown (Barbara), Ellen Dills (Roger) and Debra Phillips (Ronnie); her brothers, Larry Broome and Hankie Broome; and her niece Cindy Morgan. She is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia (700 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors (700 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054).
