She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Monroe Oates Sr. and Essie Mae Beattie Oates; her husband Ned Moose; her daughter Trudy Elizabeth Clubb Bates; her siblings, Margace Oates Tuttle, Betty Lou Oates Griffin, Lefa Oates Baker, Eula Oates Goldsmith, Thomas "T. J." Oates Jr. and Artis "Tot" Oates; and her son-in-law James Edward Bates.
She is survived by: her great grandchild Kalyn Diaz Bates; her children, John William Clubb Jr. of Gastonia and Angela Shirley Clubb Joy (Michael) of Mooresville; her sister Carolyn Oates Rhyne of Gastonia; her grandchildren, Brooke Jolley Harris (Troy) of Davidson, Shannon Clubb of Gastonia and Lindsey Clubb Lail (Ernie) of Gastonia; and her great grandchildren, Finley, Madison Harris of Davidson, Aubrey Lail of Gastonia, Krystal Ledford and Braesyn Bates of Bessemer City.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the McLean Funeral Directors (700 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Gaston Memorial Park (1200 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054).
