He is survived by: his wife Mary Tompkins; his children, John Tompkins (Pam), Kenneth Tompkins (Glenna), Rodney Tompkins (Elizabeth) and Gayle Tompkins; his stepchildren, Clint Raymes, Jennifer Fleming, Jeff Raymes and Kevin Raymes; his grandchildren, Kenny Tompkins, Jr., Gleanna Tompkins, Zachary Tompkins and Emily Tompkins; and his great grandchildren, Carson Tompkins and Bentley Tompkins.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Salisbury National Cemetery (501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
