He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Big Bill" Roland McGinnis and Linda Carolyn Collins McGinnis; his grandparents, Howard, Clara McGinnis, James and Marjorie Collins; and his brother Keith Roland McGinnis.
He is survived by: his children, Wyatt McGinnis of Gastonia and Kallista McGinnis of Kannapolis; his siblings, James McGinnis (Destiny Dockery) of Belmont, Jennifer Whitener (Ben) of Newton and Jackie McGinnis of Dallas; his close friend Stevie Shaw; and his aunt Betty Anderson.
A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Bennett Funeral Service (7878 NC-16, Newton, NC 28658). Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
