With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Carolyn Virginia Taylor Atherton of Gates, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 19, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Leslie Taylor and Wessie Virginia Harrell Taylor; and her brothers, Ron Taylor and Mike Taylor. She is survived by: her nieces and nephews, Jody Brinkley, Ronald Taylor, Jeremy Taylor (Amy), Rose Taylor Lee (Bruce) and Jeff Taylor (Lisa); her caregivers, Sue Rountree, Liz Ferguson, Michelle Cross, Sharon Patrick and Tricia Cross; and her pet Tigger.
