She was predeceased by: her parents, James Briscoe and Ellwanger Briscoe; her grandchild Deljew Harris; and her siblings, James Briscoe, William Briscoe, Emily Irene Frink and Minnie Odell Baker.
She is survived by: her husband Douglas F. Powell; her sons-in-law, Ted Gatling and Tony Nowell; her children, Stuart Powell (Sharon) of Greensboro, Douglas Powell, Lance Powell of Gatesville, Robin Gatling (Ted) of Sunbury, NC and Tracy Nowell (Tony) of Winston Salem, NC; her grandchildren, Evan, Patrick, Justin, Stavon of Tyrus, TJ, Laron of Sharon, JD, Zakkiyyah, Ariel, Asia and Steven Lawrence; Robert Jordan. She is also survived by thirty great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, five nieces, two nephews and host of other relatives and friends.
