He was predeceased by: his parents, Lindsey Morings and Margaret Morings of Suffolk, Virginia.; his daughter Megan; his siblings, Doretha (Honey) and George Allen; his grandparents, Linous, Alice Gatling, Sam and Purler Morings; and his pet Palmer.
He is survived by: his wife Christine Morings; his son Sherod Johnson (Kirsha); his grandson Sherod Johnson Jr.; his siblings, Sylvia Morings, Ray Morings and Terry Morings (Seminar); his siblings-in-law, Estell Oliver, Pam Simms, Jackie Pennix (Sylvester), Seminar Morings and Alvin Johnson; and his aunts, Mary Johnson and Luella Fitzhugh. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Stoney Branch Baptist Church (581 Gatlington Rd, Gates, NC 27937). A burial will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at the Gatling Cemetery (219 Saunders Rd, Gates, NC 27937).
