Though Samuel may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Samuel touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Smith and Frances Rodgers Smith; and his sister Smith Jenkins. He is survived by: his sister Queen Harrison (Roger) of Sunbury; his aunts, Mary Saunders of Elizabeth City, Ella Smith and Elsie Ward; his uncle George Smith (Ida); and his niece Frances Jenkins. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Sammy attended Gates County Public Schools and later attended ADAP and Solid Foundation Adult Centers in Ahoskie NC for many years.
