He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvis "Jack" Boyd and Grace Rakes Forrest; and his brothers, Danny Boyd and Cody Lyndell Boyd. He is survived by: his wife Linda Pope Boyd; his sons, David Boyd (Tracy) of Burlington, NC and Eric Boyd (Cassie) of Reidsville, NC; his grandchildren, Jack, Payne Boyd of Burlington, NC, Kara and Bohdan Boyd of Reidsville, NC.; his sister-in-law Janet Pope Plummer (James "Badge" Plummer) of Stokesdale, NC; his cousin Robert Rorrer (Carol) of Eden, NC; and his nephew Chris Boyd of Willis, VA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
