He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Guthrie and Emily Guthrie; his stepdaughter Rhonda Langdon; his grandson Austin Guthrie; and his brother David Guthrie.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Guthrie; his sons, Michael Guthrie Brett (Marcie) and Jonathan Guthrie (Kimberly); his stepchildren, Raymond Shatterly (Theresa) and Jennifer Johnson (Rodney); his grandchildren, Caroline Brickhouse, Meredith Snyder, Will Snyder, Stacey Langdon and Patrick Langdon; his great grandchild Aley Cook; his siblings, Neal Guthrie (Debbie) and Jane Faucette (Philip); his niece Carrie Guthrie; and his friends, Ray and Peggy Westbrook.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Rich & Thompson Funeral & Cremation Service (306 Glenwood Ave, Burlington, NC 27215). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
