He is survived by: his wife Janice Evans; his children, Darryl Evans (Amy), LeAnn Gambill (David), Mark Evans (Tammy) and Robin Evans; his grandchildren, Ashley Weaver (Dustin), Aaron Gambill (Melissa), Sarah Hedrick (Ryan), Jake Evans (Heather), Adam Gambill (Kayleigh), Hunter Allen (Hannah), Brandon Evans, Logan Allen, Rianna Cooke (Caleb), Caleb Evans (Serenity) and Kaycee Craven (Devin); his great grandchildren, Tate, Taryn, Elijah, Carson, Aiden, Colton, Calvin, Adleigh, Gideon, Annistyn and Judah; and his siblings, Emma Lou Surgeon, Jack Evans, Jim Evans (Faye), Ralph Evans (Ramona) and Margaret Cochran (Calvin).
Visitation was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service (115 Hawthorne St, Sparta, NC 28675). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery (6522 U. S. Hwy 221 N, Laurel Springs, NC 28644).
