He was predeceased by: his mother Cora Mae Mathis Nesbitt; and his siblings, Mary Beth Nesbitt, Ronald H. Nesbitt and Patricia A. Alford. He is survived by: his father John Jay Nesbitt; his wife Linda Knox Nesbitt; his children, Daniel "Dan" A. Nesbitt (Carol), John F. Nesbitt (Kimberly), Valeda A. Hogeland (Joe) and Tracy E. Martin; his grandchildren, Alex, Lauren, Brody, Parker, Macy, Johnny, Kaylee, Alysha and Kara; his great grandchildren, Preston, Julia and Maisy; and his siblings, Robert D. Nesbitt, Donald R. Nesbitt, Jonnie M. Dockery, Ada L. Atkinson and Loretta E. Atkinson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews he loved.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Faith Free Will Baptist Church (1200 W Grantham St, Goldsboro, NC 27530). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 7:45 PM at the same location.
