We are sad to announce that on August 23, 2024, at the age of 81, Benjamin Fitzhugh Smith Jr. of Goldsboro, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Benjamin farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Benjamin is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He is survived by: his wife Laurie Ann Miller Smith; his children, Leigh Smith Harris (Robert) of Dover and Ben Smith (Christie) of Wilson; his grandchildren, Jessica Grace Harris, Noah Robert Harris, Laurie Shiloh Harris, Anna Lee Smith and Benjamin Smith, IV; and his brother Johnny Mack Smith of Mt. Olive.
