She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Ellis and Ruby Rose Ellis; her husband Jimmy Thompson; her son Jimmy Thompson, Jr.; her siblings, Herman Ellis, Harold Ellis, George Ellis, Dorothy Perkins, Ruth Best, Sarah Avery and Rose Kornegay; and her grandson Charles William Aycock.
She is survived by: her daughters, Nanette Aycock (Phillip) and Judy Smith (Elton); her grandchildren, Zachary Smith, Phil Aycock (Veronica), Ryan Aycock (Amanda), Nancy Corbett (Mark) and Vanessa Thompson; her great grandchildren, Wyatt Aycock, Wade Aycock, D. J. Terrell and Gwyneth Terrell; her sister Cleone Ellis; her sister-in-law Martha Ann Ellis; and her caregiver Carolyn.
