He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Stephen Walston and Eva Vaughn Walston; his wife Peggy Ham Walston; and his siblings, James "Bud" Walston, Wayne Walston, Grace Daughtry, Doris Oakes and Evelyn Ross.
He is survived by: his daughter Maggie; his son-in-law Jonathan Smith; his granddaughters, Lennon Rose Smith and Charlotte Jean Smith; Sharon Carter, Venice, Lindsey Brown, Dustin, Melanie and Mason. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
