As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Connie Coombs may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mark Coombs and Bernice Coombs; her husband James Hunter Mercer; and her brother Albert Coombs. She is survived by: her children, Neil Mercer (Melinda), Gina Strickland and Sheila Lewis (Richard); and her sister Polly Eubanks. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Seymour Funeral Home (1300 Wayne Memorial Dr, Goldsboro, NC 27534). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Pikeville Cemetery.
