He was predeceased by: his parents, Randall Autry Barfield and Jo Ann Benton Barfield. He is survived by: his sister Lisa Ann Barfield Barnes; his brother-in-law Bishop Jeffrey Lynn Barnes; and his nephews, Christian Lee Barnes and Nicholas Dean Barnes. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Seymour Funeral Home (1300 Wayne Memorial Dr, Goldsboro, NC 27534). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery (3888 US Hwy 70 W, Goldsboro, NC 27530).
Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made in Dean's memory to cancer research through the American Cancer Society.
