It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Delia Rebecca Smith of Goldsboro, North Carolina, who passed away on January 5, 2026, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Percy Wells Sr. and Peggy Jernigan Hyatt; her daughter Angela Kornegay; and her granddaughter Haley Kornegay. She is survived by: her husband Durwood "Buddy" Smith; her daughter Yvonne Smith of Hampstead, NC; and her granddaughter Hannah Kornegay of Goldsboro. She is also survived by three sisters and six great-grandchildren.
