“Doug and I were first cousins. Our mothers were sisters, growing up on the family farm in Indiana. I am deeply saddened by his passing and, earlier, the passing of his sister Marietta. Always loved the visits of the Davises to Indiana and our times in North Carolina, beginning a long time ago. He was a gracious, nice guy, with a wonderful sense of humor, and my love goes out to Becky and the entire family.”
