He was predeceased by: his mother Missie Safford; his siblings, Nathan, Lonnie Safford, Sarah Safford, Mary Toney and Texanna Simpkins; and his daughter Katrina Waller.
He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Safford, Andrea Safford, Natasha Waller, Douglas Safford of Worcester, MA, Lexie Safford-Sanchez of Gilbert, SC, Ariana Safford of Raleigh, NC, Adrian Safford of Columbia, SC and Carmelita Snyder of Pittsburgh, PA.; his siblings, Jennett Collins of Goldsboro, NC, John Safford, Wiilie Faye Safford of Kinston, NC, Pauline Gassaway of DeSoto, Texas and Marvin Safford of Burlington, VT; and his girlfriend Donna Campanele of Worcester, MA. He is also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Haskins Memorial Services, Inc. (601 E Ash St, Goldsboro, NC 27530). A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vernon Hill American Legion Post 5 (267 Providence St, Worcester, MA 01607).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memory of Douglas Safford to local youth sports programs.
