He is survived by: his brothers, Chris Pate (Viola) of Kinston and Frank Pate (Barbara) of Snow Hill; his nieces and nephews, Charles Pate, Leslee Pate Johnson (Bennie), Berry Pate (Lauren) and Amanda Pate; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Harlee Murray, Andi Pate, Bennett Johnson, Henry Pate and J. B. Pate; his aunts and uncles, Reba Creech, Dorothy Pelletier, Wilton and Linda Pate; and his pet Tiny.
