He is survived by: his children, Richard Thompson (Divina), Kenneth Thompson, Carol Ann Martin and Sharon Singleton (Melvin); his wife Deborah Joy Thompson; his sons, Shawn Carter and Colvin Carter; his grandchildren, James Thompson, Jennifer Campbell (Nolan), Ambria Martin, Faith Martin, Derrick Singleton, Fantasia Singleton, Za'Khia Singleton, Mia Singleton and Jakobe Carter; his great grandchildren, Grayson Campbell, Kyle Thompson, Ezra Lee Campbell, Opal Rose Campbell, Jayden Martin and Kaylee Thompson; and his siblings-in-law, Edna Thompson, Phyllis Boyd, Diane McCormick, Carla Boyd and Lawrence Boyd, Jr.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
