She was predeceased by: her parents, Cullen Pender Gurganus, Sr. and Gladys Irene Jones Gurganus; and her husband Jimmy Hancock. She is survived by: her children, Laura Larkin (Ed), Becky Johnson (Keith) and Brian Hancock (Marsha); her brother Cullen Gurganus, II (Roddie Hancock); her grandchildren, Joshua Hancock (Katie), Chelsea Register (Stephen), Kathryn Johnson, Cassidy Johnson, Regan Hancock, Jordan Hancock and Emily Williamson (Rickie); and her great grandchildren, Camden Register, David Register and Colton Williamson.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Hope Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church (1331 W New Hope Rd, Goldsboro, NC 27534).
