He was predeceased by: his father Edward "Ryan" Straughan. He is survived by: his mother Christy Green Straughan-Haley (Dave Battisti); his sisters, Harley Marie Haley and Sawyer Battisti; his grandparents, Arthur, Cathy Bailey Green, Beth Summey Baucom and Louis E. Straughan (Joyce); his aunt Carolyn Green; and his uncle Richard Souder.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his memory to the Boy Scouts of America – Camp Tuscarora, to StageStruck or the Kavanaugh Club at the University of South Dakota.
