She was predeceased by: her parents, Milton Everette Gainey and Ethel Mae Thompson Gainey; her grandson Baylen Chase Lancaster; her half-siblings, Atha Hanger, Mary Ann Gainey, LaRose Howard, Jo Davis and Jim Gainey; and her son-in-law Bobby Herring.
She is survived by: her children, Angie Herring, April Williams (Timothy) and Sherwood Chase (Christi); her grandchildren, Chanda Dove (James "Jimbo"), Christian Chase, Makenzie Williams and Marla Chase; her great grandchild Cameron Jones; and her half-sister Ruby Hill.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Goldsboro Worship Center (900 W New Hope Rd, Goldsboro, NC 27534). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
