She was predeceased by: her parents, Levi Stump and Ruby Stump; her husband E. Ray Mayo; and her brothers, Jimmy Stump and Larry Stump.
She is survived by: her cousin Claudette Buchan; her children, Steven Ray Mayo (Tracy) of Pikeville and Jennifer Karen Hardesty (David) of Asheboro; her granddaughter Scotlyn Rae Mayo; and her sisters, Sandy Cobb and Edie Turner. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Seymour Funeral Home (1300 Wayne Memorial Dr, Goldsboro, NC 27534). A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Wayne Memorial Park (2925 US-117, Dudley, NC 28333).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Janice's memory to First Baptist Church, 125 S. John Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
