He was predeceased by : his parents, Clifton Bailey and Rhoda Parnell Bailey; his siblings, Charles, Peggy B. Langston and Edith B. Ross; and his pet Scooter.
He is survived by : his wife Barbara Pelt Bailey; his sister Paulette Kornegay (Garry); and his brother-in-law Gerald N. Pelt. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
