He was predeceased by : his parents, Isac Lee and Emma "Bill" Best Combs; his brother Marty Combs of Snow Hill; his wife Joyce Combs; and his pet Tony.

He is survived by : his children, Stevie Lee Combs (Destiny Grimmett) of Goldsboro, Jimmy Roger Combs of Goldsboro and Amy Kennedy (Mike Kenndy) of Grantham; and his grandchildren, Evangeline Combs, Bradley Combs, Cole Kennedy and Dylan Kennedy. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
