He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Edward Best and Agnes Westbrook Best; and his brother Jimmie Edward Best (Barbara). He is survived by: his wife Lee Ann Thornton Best; his sons, Johnnie Brian Best (Josie) and Kevin Earl Best (Michele); his grandchildren, Lainey Brookes Best and Makinley Reece Best; and his siblings, Danny Best (Vickie), Mike Best and Pat Best Gonsalves (Leo). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Seymour Funeral Home (1300 Wayne Memorial Dr, Goldsboro, NC 27534). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the same location. The inurnment will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery (164 Longs Plant Farm Rd, Goldsboro, NC 27534).
