He was predeceased by: his parents, Zeb Vance and Olive Aycock Whaley. He is survived by: his wife Bessie Pearl Whaley; his children, Christopher Vance Whaley (Nel) of Fremont and Sabrina Tart (Billy) of Mt. Olive; his sisters, Rebekah Williford of Pikeville and Karene Frantz (John) of Pikeville; his grandchildren, Kristian Whaley Smith (Caleb), Kelsey Tart Valverde (Jake), Cody Vance Whaley (Emily) and Justin Stewart Tart (Megan Price); his great grandchildren, Bella, Everest Valverde, Penny and Nora Smith; his friend Willie B. Stone; and his pet PJ.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Howell Funeral Home & Crematory (1500 Wayne Memorial Dr, Goldsboro, NC 27534). A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery (3888 US-70, Princeton, NC 27569).
