He was predeceased by : his parents, V. Abel, II and Julia Conway Abel; and his brother Allen Abel, Sr.. He is survived by : his wife Deborah "Debbie" Abel; his children, K. L. Abel, Jr. (Charity), Heather Abel Millard and Kristin Abel Haddow (Wylie Current); his stepchildren, Ronnie Hood (LuAnne), Michelle Witherington and Cindy Jo Lewis (Josh); his siblings, Virgil Abel, III (Diane) and Janice Whittaker; his sister-in-law Rachel Abel; his grandchildren, Brittany Powell, Lauren Haddow, Kenny Millard, Dakota Abel, Madison Haddow, Isabella Abel, Rylee Millard, Nolan Haddow and Kolton Abel; his stepgrandchildren, Jonathan Williams, Krystie Witherington and Matthew Hood; and his great grandchild Cillian Powell-Kohls. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family.
