He is survived by: his daughters, Debbie Brake (Terry) and Phyllis Smith (Mike); his grandchildren, Adam Brake (Jessica), Miranda Pate (Christian) and Hunter Smith (Patricia); his great grandchildren, Cason Pate, Addison Smith and Miller Rae Pate; his sister Rose Whitfield (Elton); his stepson Carl Freeman, Jr. (Barbara); his stepgrandson Daniel Scott Freeman (Alaura); and his stepgreat-grandson Austin Jonathan Freeman.
