He was predeceased by : his parents, James Franklin Kearney and Mittie Webber Kearney; his wife Dorothy Graves Kearney; and his siblings, James Franklin Kearney, Jr., Elizabeth Kearney Sauls, Rachel Kearney Pelt, Sudie Kearney Darden and Joan Kearney Allen.
He is survived by : his children, Samuel Cornelius Kearney, Dennis Ray Kearney (Lori) and Janice Kearney Hatch; his grandchildren, Kimberley Jackson Vinson, Eric Ray Hatch, Jessica Kearney Smith (Scott) and Melissa Kearney Sasser; his great grandchildren, Danielle Price Roberson, Brandon Matthew Hatch, Payton Skylar Hatch and Riley Scott Smith; and his great great grandchildren, Hadleigh Pearson and Zoey Roberson.
The family request that memorial donations be made to Freedom Baptist Church, 300 Country Day Rd, Goldsboro, NC 27530 in memory of Luther.
