Martha Winslow Joyner Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Winslow Joyner (Goldsboro, North Carolina), who passed away on May 5, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Martha Adams "Maw" Winslow and J. W. "Nunk" Winslow, Jr.; her former husband William Durwood Ray; her husband William Frances Joyner, Jr.; her siblings, William Troy Winslow (Charlene T. Winslow) and Lyda W. Adams; and her grandson William Brian Umstead.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sandra Ray Umstead (Bob) of Cary, Dr. Martha Lee Ray of Goldsboro and Joy Kimberly Ray Kastner of Goldsboro; and her grandchildren, Charlotte Florez (Matt) and Will Kastner (Stacie Gates). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and step-children.
Martha also worked as a Director of Christian Education at Saint Paul United Methodist Church and for WAGES Community Action Agency as coordinator of RSVP, Senior Companions, and Foster Grandparent programs.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Saint Paul playground or Thompson Fund, 204 E. Chestnut Street, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
