She was predeceased by: her parents, Mitchell Koonce and Lilly Hainey Koonce; her husband Harris Eugene Parsons; her siblings, Kenneth Koonce and Frances Waters; and her brother-in-law Linwood Johnson.
She is survived by: her sons, Roderick Eugene Parsons (Thais), Charles Bender Parsons (Barbara) and Wayne Lynn Parsons (Kim); her grandchildren, Zachary Harris Parsons, John Haines Gallion IV, Molly Ballard and Sam Ballard (Samantha); her siblings, Richard Koonce (Diane) and Cindy Johnson; and her sister-in-law June Koonce. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
