She was predeceased by: her husband Roscoe Hyatt; her sons, Percy Eugene Wells, Ricky Steve Wells and Danny Lynn Wells; her siblings, Rosa Lee Gooding, Bernice Gooding, Ellen Gooding, Irene Merritt, Trudy Mae Tucker and Troy Jernigan; her granddaughter Angie Smith Kornegay; and her great grandchild Hayley Kornegay.

She is survived by: her daughters, Delia "Becky" Smith (Durwood) of Goldsboro, Joyce Taylor of Bonneau, SC, Natalie Brenner of Sanford, NC and Paula Cooper of Velva, ND.. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
