It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joyce Ann Lawter Whetzel of Graham, North Carolina, who passed away on August 5, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Lawter and Nora Belle Rice Lawter; her husband Clyde Eugene Whetzel; and her brothers, Raymond, Robert and John Lawter.
She is survived by: her children, Jon Whetzel (Jan) and Melissa Sue Whetzel; her grandchildren, Lillian Jones (Davis), Isabelle Whetzel (Bailey), Colton Whetzel, Kaitlin Jarvis (Brent), Bethany Coleman (Austin) and Jessica Jarvis; her great grandchildren, Anni, Marlow, Natalie, Logan, Bentlee, Zayleigh, Jack and Joe; and her brother David Lawter.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Salem Funeral and Cremation Services - Downtown (120 S Main St, Winston-Salem, NC 27101). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (3250 High Point Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27107).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
