He was predeceased by : his father Fred Atlas Turnmire. He is survived by : his mother Imogene "Babe" Turnmire; his wife Karen Turnmire; his children, Donovan Atlas Turnmire (Elizabeth) of Cullowhee, April Lorraine Turnmire Mitchell (Clint) of Granite Falls and Caleb Brooks of Lenoir; his grandchildren, Brooks A. Turnmire, RayLynn Mitchell, Claira Brooks, Clayton Brooks and Carter Brooks; and his siblings, Phil Turnmire (Angie), Doug Turnmire (Ruth), Mike Townsend (Tina) and Susan Turnmire. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Amorem Hospice of Caldwell or to Dry Ponds Baptist Church.
