He was predeceased by: his parents, Flay George Godfrey and Nellie Bradley Godfrey; his wife Eva Mae Godfrey; his stepdaughter Michelle Chester; and his siblings, Roger Flay Godfrey, Ronnie Blane Godfrey and Patsy Toon.
He is survived by: his sons, Gary Godfrey (Michelle) of Lenoir and Shaun Lee Godfrey of Rhodhiss; his stepchildren, Peggy Sue Price of Hudson and Roger Dean Price, Jr. of Lenoir; his sister Wanda Clawson of Lenoir; and his grandson Eli.
